This is from a capsule collection created for the “Unapologetic” exhibition, part of an ongoing exploration of self-identification.

I started painting the maasai beads to reflect my childhood spent in Africa. I stopped as I wanted to check that this was not culturally inappropriate, this  lead me to question my own DNA considering my mixed heritage of being half British and half Mauritian. My DNA test results contributed to the unravelling of my own cultural identity and came back that I was in fact 3% Maasai!
